To Be Continued... (Easter Sermon)
To Be Continued… | The Resurrection Changes Everything
Most Easter sermons begin with an empty tomb.
This one begins with a coffin.
After walking through the entire book of Genesis, we arrive at an unexpected ending—Joseph, a man of faith, placed in a coffin in Egypt. Not exactly how you’d expect the story of God’s promises to conclude.
But Joseph knew something.
Even in death, he believed the story wasn’t over.
In this message, we trace the thread from Genesis to Easter—through death, through promise, and ultimately to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What looks like the end is actually just the beginning.
Because for those who are in Christ…
death is not the end of the story.
It’s simply: to be continued.
In this sermon, we explore:
• Why Joseph refused a traditional burial
• The deeper meaning behind “carry my bones”
• What Old Testament believers were waiting for
• How Jesus fulfilled the promise of the coming Seed
• Why the resurrection changes everything—for them and for us
• What it means to be prepared for death… and truly ready to live
Key Scripture:
Genesis 50:22–26
Hebrews 11:22, 39–40
1 Corinthians 15:20–23
1 Thessalonians 4:16
If you’ve ever wondered what happens after death—or whether your story ends in the grave—this message points you to the only hope that holds.
Watch now and be reminded: because of Jesus, your story is not over.
