Cornered By Grace
Cornered By Grace | Genesis 42–44
Have you ever known you needed to deal with something in your life—but kept avoiding it?
In Genesis 42–44, the story of Joseph and his brothers reveals a powerful truth about how God brings real change into our lives. For twenty years, Joseph’s brothers avoided the sin of their past. They buried it, built their lives around it, and tried to move on. But God, in His grace, would not allow them to escape it forever.
Through a famine, a journey to Egypt, and a series of unexpected events, God slowly brings these men to a place where they must finally face the truth.
Joseph’s dealings with his brothers show us that life change rarely happens all at once. The Bible calls this process progressive sanctification—the ongoing work of God transforming our hearts over time.
In these chapters we see four powerful realities:
God confronts what we avoid.
God attacks our illusions.
God breaks our control.
God offers mercy and opportunity.
What looked like pressure and fear was actually grace at work, cornering them so they could finally repent and be restored.
📖 In this message, Pastor Zach Terry explains how God often uses difficult circumstances to bring us to honesty, humility, and ultimately to His mercy.
If you’ve ever felt like God was pressing on an area of your life you’d rather avoid, this message will help you see how even those moments are part of His grace.
