What makes a person right with God? Is it religious effort, good works, rituals, or moral achievement?

In Romans 4, Paul points us back to Abraham and David to show that salvation has always been by grace through faith. Abraham wasn't justified because of his performance, circumcision, or obedience to the law. He was declared righteous because he believed God.

The same faith that saved Abraham is the faith that saves us today.
