Members of the Body
What does a healthy church look like?
In Romans 12, Pastor Zach Terry explains one of the Bible’s most important pictures of the church: the Body of Christ. The church is not simply a building or organization. It is a living body made up of believers, each uniquely gifted by God and called to play a part.
Just as every part of the human body has a different function, every believer has a role in the church. No gift is more important than another, and no member is unnecessary. A healthy church is marked by humility, unity in diversity, and believers actively using the gifts God has given them.
In this sermon, you’ll discover:
• Why the church is a body, not simply a building
• How to avoid both pride and false humility
• Why every member of the church is valuable
• How unity can exist without uniformity
• Why spiritual gifts are meant to serve others
• The seven motivational gifts found in Romans 12
• Why every Christian should be actively serving
God has placed gifts and abilities in you that other members of the Body need. Your spiritual gift was not given simply for your benefit. It was given for the building up of the church.
When every believer faithfully uses what God has given them, the Body of Christ functions as it was designed to function.
